Red’s POV:

“I’m just not sure how to tell this person how I really feel. I don’t want to do anything that would mess up our friendship. And this person is also one of your actual grandkids, not like how you kinda adopted me, the fairy, or the puppet boy.” I sighed and stood up. Morning would come soon, and the grass was starting to get wet. I brushed off my pants and threw on my hood. “Thanks for always listening to me, Granny. Oh, and I almost forgot.” I placed the sunflower over the gravestone, which read “Relda Grimm”. “Here’s something for you. It’s getting close to that time of year again. And I’ll never forget what you did for us.”

I turned towards the gates of the Ferryport Landing Cemetery. It’s not like anyone ever notices when I come here though. It’s always during the middle of the night, unless I come with my family, my adoptive family. My actual parents and grandmother have been dead for centuries, but since I have a fairytale written about me, then I’m an Everafter, an immortal being. Unless someone tries really hard, then I will never come to this cemetery against my own free will.

I see someone emerge from the shadows. A boy, about twelve or thirteen, I would guess. He looked worn out and held a sword. I run over to him, and he collapses in front of me. He appeared to have been in battle recently, and I wasn’t surprised when I saw a large dog came after him.

I stand to face the beast. Even Elvis, the family dog isn’t this big, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.

I’m always afraid to use the power trapped within, afraid that it will take control, but sometimes it’s the only option.

I allow the fur to sprout from my pores, my fangs to grow.

I allow the darkness to take ahold of me.

Nico’s POV:

I awake in a farmhouse. I would say old, but it looks practically new, with only a few years of wear and tear. This house was well used; dirty dishes were scattered around, as well as books. Everywhere books on shelves, in piles, even holding up a table and chairs.

I think back to the previous night. I had shadow traveled when the hellhound attacked me, without a real destination in mind.

“This is a very interesting blade you have.”

I look over and see a girl only a year or two older than me wearing blue jeans and a red hooded sweatshirt and holding my sword.

“Are you a knight? I though only knights used swords, though Sabrina does sometimes.”

I scowled at her. “I guess you could say I am a knight, of sorts.”

“You are all dressed in black. Are you related to the Black Knight? I thought Sabrina and Robin stopped him a few years back.”

I wasn’t sure how to respond to that last question. “If you would just return my sword, I would like to be on my way.”

The girl shook her head. “You were injured last night when I found you. Really though, you found me. Anyway, I brought you back here. I tried to fix you a bit, but I’m not that great with magic. You are still pretty weak.”

I tried to stand up, but she ran over and held me down to the couch. “Don’t get up. You will only injure yourself further.”

“Then can you hand me my jacket?”

She did as I asked and I pulled out a square of ambrosia. “By the way, I’m Rachel Grimm.”

I swallowed before replying. “I’m Nico di Angelo.”

“Well, Nico, welcome to Ferryport Landing, the sleepy river town in upstate New York.”

New York, wonderful. The same state where my “friends” are. I can barely stand to be around them anymore, at least not around Percy and how he has betrayed me.

I could feel the ambrosia do wonders on me and could stand within moments.

“Wow. What’s that stuff you took? It works so much better than the Satin Surgeon's Salve.” She gestured to a tin sitting on a stack of books.

I shook her away. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“And why would you think that?”

“It’s complicated.”

Why would she understand about the presence of gods and monsters? She’s a mortal. One piece of ambrosia could kill her.

But she still seemed to be hiding something from me.

I looked around at a few of the books. The Paul Bunyan Diet and The Chronicles of Narnia were among the titles, but one that stood out to me was a copy of Jason and the Argonauts, a tale I knew far too well, being a demigod and all.

“You have a very interesting taste in literature.”

I turned around when she growled at me and she had placed a hand over her mouth. “Sorry, but it’s not like you would understand why my family has such a collection.”

Red’s POV:

“Perhaps you should explain then.”

I could feel the anger inside me. Stay cool Red. Remember your training. Slow breathing. Calm.

I took one last breath. Perhaps I shouldn’t have helped this boy, but that wasn’t the Grimm way.

“Then you need to explain to me about yourself, if we are going to be sharing.”

He shrugged and sat back on the couch. “Fine. Then we can both be confused. You first?”

I glared at him. This boy was infuriating! “How much do you think you know about these stories?” I gestured to the books around the room. “That they are just stories? I am living proof that they are more than just fairy tales. I am Red Riding Hood and I have seen war between Everafters, or fairy-tale characters as you would call them. I helped save the world and I don’t look a day over 14.”

He smirked at me. “That’s a good one. I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t know some things. You’ve read a lot of these stories, I’m guessing, and I knew some of them to be true. Take this one for instance.” He held up a copy of The Iliad. “I’ve talked with Odysseus. I’ve met other children of the ancient gods, since I’m one. A child of Hades.”

I looked at him carefully. Both of our stories were farfetched to the regular mortals, but I still hadn’t heard that those gods, the Greek gods, were still around.

He seemed just as skeptical to my story. “Give me a sign that I know you are telling the truth, or can you.”

“I was thinking the same thing. Follow me.”

I led him upstairs. Mr. Canis was visiting the Grimms in the city. I gestured for Nico to be quiet, as I didn’t know if Pinocchio was awake yet. We have six bedrooms in all, two downstairs and four upstairs. Some people still have to share when we get guests, but at least there’s plenty of room now, not like when I moved in. It was much too crowded then.

I lead him into one of the bedrooms. It was mostly unoccupied, but there was a large mirror on one wall. “This is the magic mirror from Snow White’s tale, except it got a new guardian a few years back. Say hello Wilhem!”

A face appeared wrapped in smoke. “Red, always a pleasure. And you’ve brought a friend! Welcome!”

I turned to the boy. “Do you believe me now?”

He nodded. “I swear on the River Styx that I am telling the truth in saying that the Greek gods are real.”

Nothing happened. I had read about that in some of the mythology books, that making an oath on the River Styx was a binding contract and was punishable in things worse than death.

Nico’s POV:

I couldn’t believe that she believed me, or that there was a world like mine, that was based on bedtime stories.

“Will you tell me what you ate? I am very curious.”

The girl’s big brown eyes were staring at me. I pulled out another square. “Ambrosia. The food of the gods. It burns up mortals fast, but it heals demigods, if we don’t eat too much. I don’t know what it would do to someone like you.”

“To an Everafter?” She shrugged. “We could use the Surgeon’s Salve, or some other items, but our bodies are pretty durable. We don’t need stuff like that often. We still have some for our mortal friends.”

I noticed she said mortal in a way as if there weren’t many mortals left who knew about Everafters.

We stared at each other for an awkward moment. “I should probably get going.”

“That could be a good idea.”

She led me back downstairs. “Do you need anything? Food? Water?”

I shook my head and grabbed my jacket. “I’ve got everything I need in my pocket except my sword.”

She ran into the living room. I could heard her arguing with a boy before coming back with my blade. “Here, sorry about that. I hope you don’t think I was going to take it from you.”

I shook my head. “It’s no problem. Thanks for the fix up.”

“Anytime. If you ever need anything, just stop by. The door’s always open.” She smiled at me, but I could see terror in her eyes. I remembered her tale and wasn’t surprised. She had witnessed her grandmother die.

I shook her hand. “Sure. If I come back this way, I’ll say hi.”

I walked out the door and waved back to her before entering the shadows in her yard.

Red’s POV:

“Tell me one more time why you can trust him.”

I turned to the boy with the pointed nose. He had grown up the last few years, just like I had.

“Because, he’s like us, but different. You could say he’s more like Wendell, since he’s only a half-blood.”

He shrugged. “Whatever Red.” He pointed to spot on the couch next to him and I sat. He pulled me into an awkward hug. We aren’t exactly siblings, but we are good friends. He’s one of the few people who can touch me and I won’t freak out.

“Pinocchio, are they coming today? Sabrina and Daphne?”

“Yeah, today. And then the ceremony tomorrow at the cemetery.”

Ah yes, the memorial we have every year for those who died during the war against the Scarlet Hand. Pinocchio and I know about it far too well. We were both on the Hand’s side until we found a family with the Grimms.

“Red, are you ready for it?”

I could feel the tears swelling in my eyes. The wounds were reopened every year at this time. Everything I did under the Master’s control floods back to me. Pinocchio held me a little tighter. He knows me better than anyone, but he still doesn’t know all my secrets.

I hear the door open and we jump from the couch. I race into Daphne’s arms. It’s been months since we’ve seen each other, but I still love her just as much.

Nico’s POV:

Once more, I arrive in this cemetery. Very few people come here, so I won’t be easily spotted at this hour.

I hear a twig snap behind me. I turn to see a figure in a red hood standing above one of the many gravestones. For a sleepy town, they sure have a whole lot of deceased.

I walked over to it and the figure removed the hood. Underneath was a girl, and we exchanged a few words.

“Hey.”

“Hi.”

“It’s been a while.”

“Yep.”

“Is everything ok, here?”

“Yeah. I guess.”

I see her glance down at the gravestone. It was quick, and I’m sure she hoped I didn’t notice, but of course, I did.

“Who is this you came to visit?”

“My adoptive grandmother. I come for guidance, but I know she can’t respond.”

“How would you like to speak with her one more time?”

I was pleased the response wasn’t “How could you do that?” but “Why would you do that for me?”

“You did something for me once, and it could be a way to repay the favor.”

The girl seemed to smile at that and I removed the Happy Meal and Cokes. After the night was over, I walked the girl home. It was something gentlemanly, even if neither of us wanted something like that.

“Thank you, Nico. I appreciate what you did back there.”

“It was nothing. As there are so few of us, the children of darkness should stick together.”

We shook hands and parted ways on her porch steps; her going inside the house; and me shrinking into the shadows, something I’ve found that we both very much enjoy.

Just a little fanfiction crossover with two of my favorite book series, and two of my favorite charcters. I'm not sure if this is an au or not, but I tried to keep as much cannon between the two groups.
This is set 5 or so years after the end of Council of Mirrors, but before all the epilogues. ((Gods I hate that first one. I like the second one though.)) and set between Titans Curse and the Last Olympian. ((Yes, I know. That is quite a jump, but it's somewhere between that.))
The last Nico POV is set between The Last Olympian and The Son of Neptune.
I don't know what Red's mortal name is, so  I went with Rachel Grimm. Rachel would be a good name for her, and she just uses the Grimm name for school and stuff where there's mortals who don't know about Everafters.

Red, Pinocchio, Elvis the Dog, Daphne Grimm, Sabrina Grimm, Robin (Puck), The Scarlet Hand, And all events concerning the Everafter/Scarlet Hand War are from the Sisters GRimm series by Michael Buckley.
Nico, Percy, and all events concerning Percy Jackson are from Percy Jackson by Rick Riordian.

I've never been too fond of PJO/SG crossovers, but this one is more interesting than most.
